Dr. Weston D. Viles

I am an Assistant Teaching Professor at Northeastern University, specializing in the intersection of mathematics, data science, and computer science. My research focus anchors on network data analysis, complex systems, and probabilistic methodologies applied to interdisciplinary challenges like neuroscience, epidemiology, and health services.

Previously, I have served on the faculties of the University of Southern Maine, Colby College, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Biomedical Data Science at Dartmouth College. My academic trajectory has been driven by an investigation into how interconnected components behave across varying biological frameworks—ranging from non-linear dynamics in epilepsy data to structural network interactions within the human gut microbiome.
